Teaching With Data in Undergraduate Social Science Courses at George Washington University Open Access Deposited
George Washington University (GWU) is one of twenty institutions that contributed to an Ithaka S+R study entitled Teaching with Data in the Social Sciences (TDSS). This project, led by a team of librarians at GWU, will contribute to a growing interest in developing students’ data literacy skills, which includes the skills needed to find, assess and communicate with data, and to understand its complex, related systems. The study builds upon Ithaka’s past efforts to support higher educational institutions and academic libraries, including its action-oriented research projects designed to enable higher education, scholarly communication, and cultural collections to become more accessible to members of diverse groups.
