Connecting Collections: The Importance of Scholarship for the Special Collections Librarian Open Access
The attached is an address given by Melanie Meyers to the GW Libraries community on October 23, 2017. The talk was a summary of her work as the 2016-2017 Kiev Senior Research Fellow. This project approaches the Kiev collection as a means to explore the role of the scholar-librarian. Librarian engagement with collections facilitates both the use of rare materials and the crucial intellectual and emotional connections that can advance the services libraries offer for teaching, learning, and research.
