Digital Night Open Access
Digital Night, by Ben Gatos, a Master's Thesis for the New Media Photojournalism program in the Corcoran School of Art & Design of The George Washington University, helps to better understand people's relationship with technology at night. The project utilizes a home-made telescope, a tool meant to study the stars, and instead turns the tool's gaze onto the people of Washington, D.C. Digital Night includes a Visual Review Essay, Research Essay, Magazine Essay, Photographic Essay, CommunityEngagement functions, and a website. Each particular piece builds upon the others to create a multi-dimensional argument for humanity's future with technology like a flashlight in the dark. Brick by brick, all of these pieces build Digital Night.
