Many Transgender and Gender-Diverse (TGD) people are dissatisfied with their communication and wish to transform their it and manage the distress related to it (François, 2025). This paper introduces a new intervention, “Transformation, Assertiveness, & Compassion Tools In Communication Situations” (TACTICS), which aims to transform vocal function, mindset, and communication styles through four, weekly, 90-minute sessions conducted with a speech-language pathologist (SLP). This intervention is held in pairs to provide a source of support that mitigates impact of minority stress (Testa et al., 2015). This pilot study demonstrated the efficacy and feasibility of a TACTICS protocol for 6 TGD people presumed male at birth. Efficacy of the protocol is based on participant feedback following the program and on participant results (acoustic changes and self-report measures) prior to (pre) and following the program (1-week-post, 1-month-post).
