Open Access

People living in urban neighborhoods tend to lack a sense of community within their environment. This project focuses on the reasons people are disconnected from others within their neighborhoods and how an nontraditional casino can help to promote relationships. Research is conducted on the elements of gaming and how a casino and its elements can be reinterpreted into elements of interactions. Through the course of this project the use of circulation and elements of gaming and gathering are heavily concentrated on as a means of creating voluntary and involuntary interactions between people. The use of nontraditional casino games and various lounges help to promote these interactions while incorporating various components of traditional casinos maintains authenticity.
