A Peach’s Journey: An exhibition proposal using personal stories to connect communities throughout the state of Colorado to each other, their food, and local economies. This paper is the research backing the exhibition proposal for A Peach’s Journey, an advocacy exhibition about a small town, its people, its agriculture, and its surrounding state. The idea for this exhibition is universal, however, for this thesis I have chosen the town of Palisade, Colorado, as the focus. The connection between Coloradans is accomplished by creating two exhibition locations, one stationary site located in the town of Palisade and the other in an expandable tractor trailer that travels the state. The topic of this exhibition also connects people to their local produce and farmers by telling the story of peaches growing over the last 100 years in Palisade. This exhibition is relevant to the museum field because it aims to connect the concept of a museum or exhibition with communities that are not in large urban areas and who are not always able to experience this type of display.
