There is a rhizomatic relationship between economy, culture, and environment that human society does not fully understand and can not control. The unintended and often ironic economic and ecological consequences created during seemingly positive environmental responses, such as recycling and solar power, are the focus of my studio based inquiry. Each of my garment sculptures investigates a particular commodity. I juxtapose waste material and distorted silhouettes to create metaphors that shed light on the unacknowledged victims of the global waste and energy exchange.
