We Need to Talk: A Show of Deception (Exploring Millennial Engagement at the Intersection of Exhibition and Improv) Open Access
The following thesis project is a proposal for an exhibition about deception titled, We Need to Talk, located at the Source Theater in Washington, DC. The proposal provides design documentation of the exhibition concept, and explores an interpretive strategy that incorporates the methodology of improv workshops to engage a millennial audience around the concept of deception. To this end, the needs and behaviors of Millennials are examined, as they relate to museum and cultural experiences—both through surveying demographic studies and through qualitative analysis informed by field interviews. Additionally, recent advances in applied emotion-sensing technologies will be reviewed, with recommendations for their potential use in design development and prototyping.
