Unified Security Standards for the Internet of Things (IoT)

Securing Emerging Technologies

Unified Security Standards for the Internet of Things (IoT) As IoT devices emerge, security concerns have been raised by a lack of consistent security processes in different industries. The research peers into developing a unified IoT security standard to reduce weaknesses, improve the strength of security, protect privacy, and ensure data accuracy in various industries (healthcare, manufacturing, and essential services). By tackling the mixed security situation, this research offers a clear method for securing IoT systems. The research builds and tests a unified standard framework using a custom-developed. The Comprehensive IoT Risk Evaluation and Simulation Algorithm (CIoT-RESA) tool simulates vulnerabilities and implements mitigation strategies by evaluating security risks and providing flexible countermeasures through probabilistic modeling and dataset analysis. The newest technologies (AI, ML, and blockchain) have allowed CIoT-RESA to provide real-time threat discovery, device validation, and data reliability. The research examines how a viable unified security standard notably reduces the impact of digital attacks versus existing industry best practices. Through testing and evaluation, the experiment highlights the success of CIoT-RESA in safeguarding IoT networks against known security attacks (DDOS and MitM). The results indicate the need for standardized agreements, governing compliance, and industry collaboration efforts to reinforce the IoT ecosystem resilience. This research provides ongoing attempts to secure connected devices and option as a base for future transformation within IoT platform security.
