Designing Costumes for Vanishing Point

This thesis analyzes the process of designing costumes for the production of themusical play Vanishing Point, as it was produced by the Department of Theatre andDance at The George Washington University. The production took place in the DorothyBetts Marvin Theatre from October 16 to October 19, 2014, as part of the 2014–2015MainStage season. This study reports on the design process, as well as the preparationsand collaboration among the director, costume designer, and cast. Photographs andsupporting research are provided for this project, which led to the degree of Master ofFine Arts in Production Design.
