Mundane Life
Open AccessMundane Life The multimedia project, “Mundane Life” uses video, photography, writings, and an interactive website to explore the world of the Society for Creative Anachronism. A medieval living history organization, who focuses primarily on pre-17th century Europe. The project follows members of a medieval living history organization, started in the backyard of a Berkeley California home in the 1960’s, the Society for Creative Anachronism. The society, or the SCA, began as a counter-culture movement but has grown into an international 501c3 organization with 20 Kingdoms worldwide. For many the SCA serves as the glue which binds their worlds together. The members of the SCA live two lives, one in the mundane world of today, and one in the known world of the Medieval Ages. The lines of which can be very blurry at times, and for some nonexistent. Their mundane world is their Medieval, their Medieval their mundane.
