Shared Spaces: The Story of Elephant and Human Interaction

Open Access

This exhibit will be in the Elephant Visitor Center in Amboseli National Park in Kenya. The outside of the center has a green roof which offers panoramic views of Amboseli and also gives the visitor great views of the elephants in their natural habitat. The center includes theaters, class rooms, a resource center, and this exhibit. The exhibit teaches visitors how elephants live amongst each other. It also explores how elephants and humans are similar. By making humans realize how similar we are to our elephants counterparts they will become active in elephant conservation. The last part of the exhibit will show what is happening where elephants and humans clash by looking at culling, poaching, disgruntled farmers, and orphaned elephants.
