In Hops We Trust

In Hops We Trust explores an insider’s perspective into the micro beer community. The project includes all aspects of media including a short documentary, written article, photo story and website. In the film and photo portion of the project we take a look into living with depression and the personal and family burden of working a career that is not mentally satisfying. When the main subject discovers his passion of craft beer, risks everything, and opens a brewery of his own can he find personal happiness. The written section investigates women working in the beer industry and the struggles they encounter in a male- dominated profession. This magazine- style essay incorporates all aspects of the field including brewery owners, marketing, sales, brewers and store owners.
