United By Music: Latino Musicians in the D.M.V.

Through the platforms of film and photography, this documentary project lends perspective on how local Latino musicians in the Washington metropolitan area use their music as a vehicle for establishing community, and empowering both performers and audience. These musicians share their personal points of view as they share their anecdotes providing an insight into the world they’ve been able to create around music. As part of this project, an article style essays shines light into backstories of some of these musicians. The reader can learn about the different obstacles and forces these musicians have overcome in order to follow their passion of music.
