Open Access

In this article, both China and the United States’ activities in 54 African countries, especially in certain important areas: development aid, security and economic activities were reviewed and analyzed. Two conclusions were made: first, to achieve cooperation between America and China, communication mechanisms/platforms are required in three areas: human development, regional security, and technology transformation. Second, in five areas, state development; navy and military expansion; currency for circulation, settlement, and reserve; mineral and raw material extraction; and conflict prevention and building political stability, the competition is not as furious as assumed.
