IMAGE IS EVERYTHING: Reimagining the way we tell stories at historic house museums

"Image is Everything" is a modern and fresh take on stories and artifacts at Tudor Place Historic House and Garden in Washington, DC, reinvigorating them for a teenaged audience. By intertwining technology, social identity, self-image and a little bit of scandal, visitors will discover that image may be everything, but not a new thing. Rather than enshrining the object, "Image is Everything" opens the object for new, more modern interpretations. Artifacts serve as touchstones, bringing stories to life for visitors. Each exhibit section is represented by a story or artifact from Tudor Place's collection and seeks to draw explicit connections between history and present, through a lens of social identity and self-image.
