Stay Present: Using the transformative power of art to raise the awareness of being present. This is a thesis exhibition proposal for Hirshhorn Museum and Sculpture Garden that explores the medium of exhibition design to convey a concept of “stay present”. The goal is by using the transformative power of art to raise visitors’ awareness of being present with themselves, with the others, and with the public environment. The exhibition supports the Hirshhorn Museum and Sculpture Garden’s mission in “seeking to share the transformative power of modern and contemporary art with audiences at all levels of awareness and understanding by creating meaningful, personal experiences in which art, artists, audiences, and ideas converge” It is also trying to push the boundaries of traditional art museum exhibition design, exploring a new way of interpreting artwork through creating a unique and experiential experience for visitors. It displays a series of experiential art installations in various individual galleries. The whole environment of the exhibition reflects a sense of calm and peace.
