Scenic Design for The Comedy of Errors

This thesis documents the author’s role as the scenic designer for The Comedy of Errors, directed by Matt R. Wilson, a theatrical production staged at Dorothy Betts Marvin Theatre of the George Washington University from February 14th through 17th, 2019. This thesis documents the process of conceptualizing, planning and executing of the scenic design, and also includes challenges and problems that she encountered during the production. This thesis reviews the reinterpretation of Shakespeare’s script in terms of setting and era. Photographic images are appended to the text to illustrate issues referenced in the chapters.
