Open AccessThis thesis examines the nexus between Islamic Eschatology and Muslim psychological well-being, delving into the philosophical foundations of the former and their impact on the latter. Islamic Eschatology is a vital component of Islamic theology, which informs believers about the final destiny of humanity and the deeper meaning of life. The study explores how beliefs in the afterlife shape the Muslim psyche, influence daily behavior, and contribute to resilience amidst adversity. Despite the growing body of literature linking religious practice and mental health, the specific influence of Islamic eschatological beliefs on psychological and spiritual wellness is less understood. The research is driven by the overarching question of how Islamic Eschatology’s philosophical foundations affect Muslims' mental and spiritual health. It further investigates ontological, epistemological, and anthropological concepts intrinsic to Islamic thought, their synergies with Islamic Psychology, and the resultant effects on mental health. The dual aims of this research are to fill the lacuna in the academic literature concerning the intersection of Islamic Eschatology and psychology and to enhance the competency of mental health professionals working with Muslim populations. By elucidating the intrinsic connection between eschatological beliefs and psychological well-being, the study offers a comprehensive framework for understanding the profound impacts of eschatological beliefs on mental health within the Muslim community.
