Self-Similarity in Magnetocaloric Metamagnets with First-Order Ferro-to-Paramagnetic Phase Transition
Open AccessThe motivation of this dissertation is to gain a better understanding of the underlying principle behind the behavior of the magnetocaloric metamagnets by tying together the mixed-state phenomenon with the self-similarity phenomenon to describe the metamagnetic behavior. This description will extend the self-similarity phenomenon to first-order magnetocaloric materials and opens the possibilities of incorporating new insights into: i) analytical characterization of the mixed-phase within magnetocaloric materials, ii) modeling of metamagnetism in first-order magnetocaloric material, iii) model for testing first-order magnetocaloric refrigerants without extensive data set.
