“Mālama I ka Hale” An exhibition on community development as examined through the lens of vernacular architecture in Hawaii

The following is an exhibition proposal for the development of a museum and community center with a scalable exhibition on history as told through vernacular architecture in a troubled community.This exhibition examines the historical and cultural significance of Hawaii’s vernacular architecture and its close relationship to the community. It explores how the use of an exhibition on architecture can develop an ongoing relationship between the project and local community to address the unique challenges in Waianae.
